Gross Farms is currently interviewing energetic, friendly, courteous, customer-focused individuals who are available for employment in a fast-paced working environment from September 15, 2018 through November 4, 2018. Attention to detail, excellent communications skills, the ability to multi-task, and ensuring safe environments for our guests are required skills for all positions. Employees must be at least 16 years of age and should be able to stand for extended periods.

Playground Attendants

Playground Attendants are responsible for managing multiple playgrounds, daily inspection, setup and storage of equipment, monitoring admissions to area, recognizing and reporting potential safety hazards.

Hayride Attendants

Hayride Attendants are responsible for collecting tickets from guests, loading and unloading of the vehicle and accompanying passengers around the working farm. The attendant will maintain contact with the hayride driver and monitor each trip for any potential safety hazards.

Slide Attendants

Slide Attendants are responsible for maintaining and monitoring the safe operation of Tom's Tunnel, checking admissions and assisting riders as they enter and exit the slide.

Pumpkin Jump Attendants

Pumpkin Jump Attendants are responsible for managing and monitoring the operation of the large inflatable jumping pillow. In addition to monitoring admissions, attendants are responsible for ensuring guests enter and enjoy the attraction in a safe manner as per prescribed procedures before each session. Attention to detail and the ability to demonstrate mechanical ability is an absolute requirement for this position.

Concessions Staff

Concession areas require a wide range of food preparation, service and cleaning skills. The ability to multi-task in fast-paced confined spaces with attention to detail is an absolute requirement. Shifts start prior to business hours and often extend after closing. Must be team players with a track record of excellent customer service.

Admissions Staff

Often the first employees to interact with our customers, these team players must possess outgoing personalities, professional attitudes, track records of providing stellar customer service and the ability to multi-task. They should be organized, excellent communicators and able to assist guests with appropriate product selection in a fast-paced environment. Telephone skills are a plus.

Maintenance Staff

This position requires hands on maintenance of all equipment in operation. This multi-tasking individual must possess experience in the safe operation of power tools, excellent decision-making skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Responsibilities include but are not limited to equipment repair, traffic control and supply replenishment. Individual will assist in daily preparations before the business opens and must be able to stay late to assist in closing at the end of day. A valid NC driver's license is required. Prior maintenance experience preferred.

Maze Attendants

This position requires an outgoing personality and the ability to deliver concise instructions with enthusiasm to guests, individually or in groups, prior to their entrance into the maze. Maze Attendants will also be responsible for patrolling the maze to maintain checkpoint stations, providing directions to guests as they attempt to navigate the corn maze, and daily cleanup of the maze paths. Maze Attendants must be in great physical condition, able to lift 50 lbs. and must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. This position will require multi-tasking throughout the day in a fast paced environment. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills as well as the ability to address customer service issues in a professional manner. Attendants will be responsible for checking admissions, soliciting feedback from customers and management updates throughout the day. A valid NC driver's license is also required.

School Group Hosts

School Group Hosts are responsible for greeting buses/groups upon arrival at the farm, reviewing safety procedures and providing instructions to teachers and students regarding their field trip. School Group Hosts will also need to be familiar with and understand the operation of each activity provided on the farm including, the corn maze, hayride, Tom's Tunnel, Pumpkin Jump and Play Area. Hosts accompanying groups on hayrides around the farm must be knowledgeable of the working farm and its operation. Hosts will assist teachers and chaperones during lunch and will direct groups with pumpkin distribution at the conclusion of each field trip. Friendliness, outgoing personality, patience, great organizational skills, and endless energy are requirements for this position. Must be in good physical condition and be able to stand for long periods of time. Previous experience as educators, daycare or childcare staff is a plus. CPR, First Aid or EMT Training ideal. Typical working hours for School Group Hosts are weekdays from 8:15 AM – 1:15 PM.
